What is the Active Map?:

The active map is the specific infrastructure layer that you want to perform a spatial query on. Note that an infrastructure layer has to be visible within the map window to be set as the active map.

Example: Setting the university layer as the active map

1. Click the Active Map select combobox to display a listing of the visible maps (for this example, university & airport) in the map extent.
2. Click the university listing to set it as the active map.

Note: The listing of maps in the select combobox will change as maps are added/removed from the map extent.
